The mission of the Biomedical Engineering Computational Electrophysiology Laboratory located in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University is to develop large scale computer  models of the heart and brain 1) to explore the underlying mechanisms for cardiac arrhythmias 2) to explore cortical-cortical interactions and learning and 3) to develop new strategies for treating and curing human disease.

We make use of an integrative, engineering approach that links directly models, measurements and experiments.
